I first met Drupal in 2004 when an online activist group I created became too large to be managed through my Outlook inbox. One of the members introduced me to Civicspace, the first real Drupal product. It was love at first sight. Within 6 months, I was building Drupal sites full time. Around the same time, I started writing about Drupal. Today, Nick Lewis: the blog is one of the best known (and probably least reverent) Drupal blogs on the Internet.
I left my hometown of Austin, TX, to join Chapter Three in August 2010. It was the only company and city that could have enticed me to leave Austin. My job at Chapter Three is multi-pronged: I solve the particularly difficult development problems, while setting up the rest of the dev team with a solid path to get their work done. There's often important nuance in requirements that need clarification. I make sure those nuances are clarified before we start development, not after.
When I'm not building Drupal sites, I'm probably either playing Chopin or Rachmaninoff on the piano, climbing a mountain, or studying the nightlife of the Mission district as a guerilla anthropologist.
