For the past two to three years, we’ve been evolving a flexible design solution for marketing pages. We call it the Slice Template. What is the Slice Template? The Slice Template is kind of like a layer cake. It’s a design structure that enables site authors to create web pages out of modular, horizontal components that span the width of the browser. Do you add content to Drupal websites? Have you ever found yourself in the process of uploading an image, with no clue what size to upload? Or whether Drupal will scale or crop the image? If so, you’re not alone. Drupal sites get built a million different ways because of scope, budget and time. Because of this, sites behave differently. DrupalCon LA was a success! Even though our booth got lost by UPS, our team pulled together a make-shift booth in a matter of days, gave three well received talks, led a successful training, participated in the Friday code sprints and mentored other aspiring Drupalistas. All in all, another great conference! Thanks to all the generous organizers and speakers who made this event possible. Here are some superb photos from DrupalCon LA.

The current landscape for smaller companies At best, people who currently do this work are called Web Master, Site Administrator or Marketing Coordinator—all titles which are low on the political totem pole. At worst (and more commonly), it’s a task tacked on to someone’s job, often forgotten or ignored.
