Seeking: Drupal Intern
We are hunting for an enthusiast or two looking to gain experience building Drupal sites, and who are fascinated by Drupal and want to learn more. Over the course of the summer you will go from minimal Drupal experience to Drupal super hero. We will mentor your growth through building, customizing and theming a site. Along the way we will teach you many of the technical skills you will need to both contribute to the Drupal community, and to succeed as either as a freelance developer or as a member of a development team.
You should have:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- A compulsion for creating order out of chaos (you’re a puzzle-doer)
- A methodical approach to problem-solving
- A penchant for turning over all the rocks and resolving issues thoroughly
- Have an intense desire to dig into Drupal, both the community aspects and as a tool to get projects done
- Ideally have an idea of how to code in HTML, PHP and CSS.
The program will run from June 3 through August 16th. Intern(s) will start with the week of public training, from the 3rd through the 7th, and a client kick-off meeting will happen on or around the 10th. Please note pay will be minimal, as we expect individuals who are at the beginning of their Drupal career and are hungry for the experience. Email resumes to jobs@chapterthree.com if you are interested.
Seeking: Non-Profit who needs a website
Maybe you have a site, but are looking for a rebuild, or maybe you’re ready to move to this Drupal thing everyone keeps talking about. In either case you are ready to build, having already completed your designs, and have an intense understanding of who your audience is, what the features, layout and even content will be and what you hope to accomplish with your completed site. If this sounds like you, drop us a line! Your site will be built by an enthusiastic student, overseen by one of our experienced developers, to your specifications. We will also train you on how to add your content, and will see your site through to launch. Any custom code developed for your site will be released back to the Drupal community.
Requirements:
- designs and site plan ready to go that reflects understanding of who your audience is, what the purpose of your site is, how visitors will engage with it, ect.
- A staffer to take over the site once we’ve built it ~ someone who, with provided training, will be able to hold ownership of the site and content updates in the future
- A staffer to act as project manager and content creator from your side
- A fixed scope, and a willingness to take technically easier rather than harder options when making unforeseen decisions
- A budget and plan for hosting
Promise we make to you:
Your site will be constructed according to Drupal best practices, and it will be built and launched at no cost to you. Even if our Intern does not complete the site for any reason, provided the scope of the site does not change, we will still build your site. Please email jobs@chapterthree.com if you would like to talk more about this opportunity.
